One of our core values at SE Mutual is: Community. We strive in supporting local communities and groups through financial giving and volunteering. SE Mutual has set a goal to achieve 1,000 volunteer hours by 2023. We believe that volunteering as a team is a great opportunity to meet new people and develop new skills and interests all while contributing to the growth of our community.

Moncton Headstart is a charitable community agency that was founded in 1974 with a dedication to provide early family intervention and support services to help children and their families focus on life and development skills. The contributors, staff, and volunteers at Moncton Headstart have a deep understanding of the importance of quality in the early years of the life of a child.
Throughout the week of November 2 to November 5, the SEM staff volunteered with Moncton Headstart to help with the Coats for Kids event. This community-driven event helps over 700 children in need to stay warm during the cold winter months of New Brunswick. They obtain donations such as: used or new coats, snowsuits, hats, mittens, scarves, and boots from newborn to teenager sizes.
The SEM staff that volunteered helped with sorting and triaging, preparing items for pick-up and assisting parents in finding winter garments for their children in need. With everyone’s dedicated involvement with this opportunity, we are proud to say that over 800 children in the Greater Moncton Area will stay warm throughout the cold winter season.
Thanks to Moncton Headstart for having some of the SEM staff volunteer for this event!
